Riya continues the rollout of her forthcoming album on V Recordings with "What You Gonna Do", joining forces with Irish producer Zero T and long-time collaborator Collette Warren.

Zero T has been a respected name in the scene for over two decades, first gaining attention through his work with Beta 2 before carving out a distinctive solo path. With releases on labels including Metalheadz, Dispatch, CIA and The North Quarter, he's known for precision drum work and deep-rooted musicality, bridging soulful and stripped-back dancefloor styles with consistency. Riya and Zero T also share their own musical history, with Riya appearing on Zero T's Cheap Shots album for CIA Records, while Zero T featured on Riya's debut album on Spearhead Records.

Riya and Collette's connection runs just as deep. The two first met at Sun & Bass in 2011 and quickly formed a lasting friendship and writing partnership that eventually led to their collaborative album "Two Sides of Everything". Supported by a PRS Foundation Women Make Music grant, the project also launched their Carnelian Music imprint. Around a decade ago, the musical circle between Riya, Collette and Zero T nearly extended even further, with the three close to forming a soul band together alongside Stamina MC!

True to his style, Zero T approaches the vocals here in a stripped-back, sample-led way, lifting and reworking Riya and Collette's voices in the way he's long been known for. It provides a different texture within what is otherwise a full vocal-led album.

"What You Gonna Do" is a funky, groove-led roller at its core, the track brings together artists whose paths have crossed many times over the years, making this collaboration long overdue.
