Crystal Clear's Selector EP marks his first full release on V Recordings, delivering four tracks that showcase his versatility, passion for drum & bass, and deep respect for its roots. Following the success of his debut track 'Dreamstate' on Solar Flares Vol. 2 with Sweatpea, this EP sees him pay homage to soundsystem culture while pushing his production boundaries through heavyweight collaborations.

Crystal Clear, the drum & bass alias of Andy Haeffele, first rose to prominence as part of DJ Hype's Playaz camp in the early 2000s, delivering a string of dancefloor anthems that earned him international acclaim. After stepping back from the genre to explore other musical avenues—including his techno-focused Melody's Enemy project—he returned to drum & bass with a renewed energy and sharper edge, evident in recent releases on Sofa Sound and his impactful debut on V.

The title track, 'Selector,' is a nod to the roots of the genre, sampling label boss Bryan Gee's voice from a recent podcast and crafting a modern anthem steeped in tradition. On 'Earthquake,' Crystal Clear joins forces with Amoss to deliver a catchy, rolling slice of dancefloor pressure. 'Bones', an upbeat roller with Minor Forms, balances sharp beats and slick basslines, keeping the energy high. Closing the EP is 'Slow It Down', featuring the sublime vocals of Kathryn Brenna. Starting with a soul-filled intro, the track twists into dirty bassline territory, blending beauty and grit seamlessly.

It's great to welcome Crystal Clear to the label with his first full EP, a release packed full of vibes and unmistakable character. Having earned respect for his unique sound and relentless creativity, the Selector EP is a statement of intent, and hopefully just the beginning of what's to come from this exciting artist on V.
